CCSA SOI Event speaker – Dae Kim

Dae Kim is vice president of research for NACS, the association for convenience and motor fuel retailing. In this role, he oversees the development and implementation of initiatives that help NACS members maximize their effectiveness and profitability.

Dae and his team develop and disseminate key industry metrics which provide retailers with performance benchmarks and NACS with information that is critical to the industry’s advocacy efforts on a range of issues including payment cards, motor fuels and tobacco. Additionally, Dae is a study group facilitator, serves on the board of directors for CSX and POPAI, the association for marketing at retail, and he is currently on the NACS Coca Cola Retailing Research Council. Dae joined NACS in 2001 as director of marketing.

Prior to NACS, Dae spent 10 years with Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation (now Reynolds American) in a variety of roles with increasing responsibilities in sales/trade marketing, finance and brand management.

Originally from Baltimore, Dae holds a B.A. degree in political science and political economics from Washington University in St. Louis, and a Master’s in international management from the University of Maryland. He and his wife, Kristie, have two children and live in the Washington, D.C., area.
